Following new stories all day. Bush sounding alternately like a war propagandist (I was most impressed by the resolve of all the [G8] leaders in the room.
) and a hippie (We will ... spread an ideology of hope and compassion to overwhelm their ideology of hate.
). Weird. Also: Americans should stop acting like egotistical martyrs who can teach the British how to deal with such a situation. It is we who are the newcomers to those who have had violence perpetrated on their home soil. On vigilance, a British representative pointed out the many attacks before today that were stopped, saying that "the terrorists only need to be lucky once, we need to be lucky a thousand times."
Today, we are all Londoners.
