- The vaccinated may be able to pass delta to others (i.e. everyone should wear masks), likely because with delta they have as high a viral load as the unvaccinated.
- Mild breakthrough infections may not be rare.
- Original lifting of mask mandate was on 13 May, only two-and-a-half months ago.
- Scientists are extremely concerned.
The internal CDC document was leaked to The Washington Post, but was released on Friday. The data contained is likely what prompted the new mask recommendations.

Soon after, companies started issuing vaccination mandates. Disney, Facebook (Jesus Christ the fucking gall), Google, Netflix, and many others. This might not be a tipping point, but it’s a helpful attack vector.
Gov. Greg Abbott (TX) prohibits vaccination and mask mandates in private companies (the gall of a Republican doing this is no longer surprising). Republicans are digging in with reckless downplaying.
